With the world of Green Lantern getting ready to return to live action in the upcoming HBO Max Green Lantern series, character breakdowns for the three leads for the show -- all planned to be series regulars -- have revealed a new member of the Green Lantern Corps who is half-human and half-alien.

As detailed by The Illuminerdi, the character breakdowns include previously announced Green Lanterns Guy Gardner and Alan Scott. Guy is described as "a personification of the hyper-patriotism found in the 1980’s that birthed Hulk Hogan and Rambo," but still likable and is stated as being a loving father and husband, while Alan is outwardly "the model of early 1940's" and keeps the fact that he is gay a secret in his era. There's also information regarding the show's new character Bree Jarta, a Black woman in her thirties.

Bree's breakdown reveals that she was born to an alien mother and a human father and that she takes her "commitment to the Corps and its purpose more seriously" than her fellow Lanterns. Furthermore, Bree is stated to have been raised on "a more enlightened planet with an advanced society." She outperformed her peers and earned her ring only to have Guy as her partner.

Aside from these three characters, Green Lantern will also feature Simon Baz, Jessica Cruz, Kilowog and Sinestro, although their respective character breakdowns are not present at this time. Shooting for the series looks to begin in April 2021, with Los Angeles being an expected filming location.

Executive produced by Geoff Johns and written by Seth Grahame-Smith and Marc Guggenheim, HBO Max's Green Lantern series has yet to receive a premiere date.
