Those who subscribe to HBO through Hulu will receive an upgrade to HBO Max when the highly-anticipated streaming service launches later this month, free of charge.

Per Variety, WarnerMedia has signed a deal with the Disney-controlled Hulu. Under this agreement, Hulu subscribers who already have the platform's HBO add-on will automatically be upgraded to HBO Max for free when the new service arrives on May 27. That being said, some Hulu customers who are subscribed to HBO but are billed through a third-party may not be eligible for the upgrade. Additionally, Hulu subscribers who do not have the existing HBO add-on will still be able to purchase HBO Max through Hulu. WarnerMedia's new service costs $14.99 a month and can be added on to any Hulu package.

Hulu is only the latest in HBO Max's growing number of affiliates, with WarnerMedia previously signing similar deals with Apple, Charter Communications, Google and YouTube TV. However, the company has yet to reach agreements with the likes of Verizon, Comcast, Roku or Dish Network/Sling TV. Of course, HBO Max will also be available just on its own, as well as through WarnerMedia's parent company, AT&T.

HBO Max will feature content from HBO, as well as various other WarnerMedia-owned television networks, such as TNT, TBS, TruTV, Cartoon Network/Adult Swim and CNN, as well as series produced by Warner Bros. Television that air on The CW. Speaking of, Warner Bros. films -- those based on DC Comics included -- will also be available on HBO Max.

The new streaming service feature original content, including new DC television projects such as Green Lantern, Justice League Dark, Strange Adventures, Aquaman: King of Atlantis and DC Super Hero High. Other HBO Max originals include the adult animated series Close Enough, the second season of Rooster Teeth's gen:LOCK and the DC Universe co-production Doom Patrol, not to mention specials, reboots, revivals and reunions of existing shows like Adventure Time, Looney Tunes, The Boondocks and Friends.
