Last month, ABC officially axed "Agent Carter" following the show's sophomore outing. Nevertheless, work on the third season was underway, and star Hayley Atwell revealed to her audience at MegaCon what direction the show would have taken had it not been cancelled.

"There was talk of Season 3 of going further back into her past," she explained. "So the showrunners were talking about a possible kind of twist, I suppose, into something to do with the family. They suggested there would be more to do with my brother. So that's all I can say."

Goodbye, "Agent Carter," We Still Know Your Value

Since the cancellation, Atwell has expressed her readiness to do "whatever it takes" to make more "Agent Carter" -- and she's not the only one; Dominic Cooper, who played Howard Stark on the series, has also expressed interest in seeing the show return. "I'm well up for doing more Howard Stark and I know [Atwell and James D'Arcy are] up for doing more of their characters, so fingers crossed," said Cooper on Monday.

Following "Carter's" cancellation, a petition was launched by fans campaigning for Netflix to pick up the series. As of this writing, the petition has over 117K signatures.
