After 17 years, actor Hayden Christensen will make his return as Darth Vader in Disney+'s highly-anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Even more excitingly for Star Wars fans, the actor recently teased that the show will not be his only future appearance as the iconic Sith lord.

In an interview with Total Film Magazine, Christensen refused to disclose any details about his upcoming appearance, though he did say, "The extent of this journey, I think, remains to be seen... But what a privilege to get to come back and do this, and to be a part of this project," potentially hinting at involvement in future projects.

The actor also recalled his experience becoming Darth Vader at the end of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, remarking that there was still a lot to explore with the character. "He gets knighted as Darth Vader towards the end, and for a couple of scenes I get to put the suit on. But my journey with the character was with Anakin Skywalker. But the character? He’s such a complex character. And now, getting to explore the mindset and the emotional state of Darth Vader, has been a lot of fun."

This should not necessarily come as a surprise to audiences, as it was previously reported Christensen would play the Sith lord once again in the upcoming Ahsoka series, which centers on his padawan, played by Rosario Dawson. Curiously, as the show will reportedly take place five years after Star Wars: Episove VI - Return of the Jedi, it's uncertain what form Darth Vader's appearance will take place.

Christensen has already shown a great deal of enthusiasm for the role, evidenced by his preparation for Obi-Wan Kenobi. The actor previously revealed that, in order to catch up with the franchise, he rewatched the entire Star Wars saga, as well as the two major animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.

He commented on how in-depth the shows went and how much character development Anakin Skywalker saw in the 17 years Christensen had been away from the role. ""They did a lot with these characters in those shows," he said, "And they did further explore the relationship. There was interesting stuff there to learn about. It was great fun getting to go back and re-immerse yourself in this world that just continues to grow and become more and more vast."

Obi-Wan Kenobi is scheduled to hit Disney+ with a two-episode premiere on May 27.
