HAWKMANBelieve it or not, Warner Bros is looking for writers to craft Hawkman into a feature film, according to various sites including Bleeding Cool. "We can tell that Warners aren't interested in the alien or mystical Hawkmen, so Katar Hol, Zauriel and Fel Andar will be out of the running," writes BC's Brendon Connelly. He also posted this logline for the film found at various member only tracking boards:

Part INDIANA JONES/DA VINCI CODE, part GHOST tentpole about the fictional superhero that appears in D.C. Comic books. He used archaic weaponry and large, artificial wings attached to a harness made of the Nth metal that allows flight. Most incarnations of Hawkman work closely with a partner/romantic interest named Hawkgirl or Hawkwoman in his fight against supervillains. Based on the DC comic.

This is the prompt writers must adhere to when crafting their pitch to the studio. It also indicates the tone Warner Bros is looking for ... and if they can make it a period piece set in the 30s, the "Da Vinci Code" and "Ghost" elements could slot in.

Release date: TBAX-MEN: FIRST CLASSAccording to The Coventry Telegraph's Geek Files (via Comic Book Movie), writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz told the crowd at this past weekend's MCM Expo London Comic Con that they have one Marvel Mutant in mind for a sequel. "We would like to introduce Cable. He's such a cool character and we haven't seen him in any of the films yet." He might be a relic of the early 90s, but I'll always have a soft-spot for the time traveling quasi-cyborg. Meanwhile, CBM also spotted this Hulu video of director Matthew Vaughn and producer Bryan Singer discussing the film. Sadly, since its on Hulu, it's only available in the US.

Release date: June 3rd, 2011MAN OF STEEL Cosmic Book News has rounded up all the rumors its heard surrounding the film, including this one: "Lindsay Lohan is up for the role of Lana Lang. She isn't Clark's High School sweetheart, just a girl he likes. Lana isn't interested in him because she is one of the popular girls, while Clark is geeky character who can't really show what he is like -- a 'Superman.' Lana does find out though when the school bus crashes and Clark saves the day -- as she sees him." I'm not even going to address the casting rumor contained in this nugget, but I'm adding something to my "no origin" plea. No more Smallville, no more Lana Lang. Dear production team, if you want to start in the wilderness years, that's fine ... but leave Clark's teen life out of it. It's been done to death.

Unless you want to make a "Legion of Supeheroes" flick. Then by all means, have a teener Clark.

Release date: 2012GREEN LANTERNThe Daily Blam! hears word that actor Clancy Brown (Lex Luthor on "Superman: The Animated Series" and "Justice League") will lend his voice to the villainous cloud glimpsed in the trailers. Any more info would constitute a MAJOR SPOILER, but feel free to click though if you don't mind learning way too much about the movie a few weeks before it comes out.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, release date: June 17th, 2011THE HOBBITAccording to Coming Soon, the "Hobbit" films now have titles and release dates. "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" will arrive in December of 2012 with "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" making its debut the following year. I wonder where they'll put the break in the story. The River escape, maybe? Perhaps we'll make it all the way to The Lonely Mountain only for the credits to roll as Bilbo enters the domain of Smaug. Meanwhile, director Peter Jackson has answered his first fan question on Facebook, revealing both the White Council and Dol Guldur will feature in the films. He even offered this photo of the Council:

There are a lot of goofy pictures coming out of this production.

Release date: December 14th, 2012 & December 13th, 2013WONDER WOMANiFanboy got its hands on the pilot and offers a review. "As Wonder Woman/Diana Themyscira/Diana Prince, Adrianne Palicki was a revelation," they write. "She's tough, she's charming, she's sexy, she's vulnerable, and she's got a little bit of an angry edge to her when she's Wonder Woman that adds just a dash of exciting unpredictability. This could have been a star making turn for Padlicki [sic] who certainly deserves one." They also posted some new screenshots including this one:
