Disney+'s upcoming Hawkeye show will follow Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton as he trains his protege Kate Bishop. The show will be Kate's Marvel Cinematic Universe's debut, but the role has yet to be cast. Now, Stargirl's Artemis is lobbying for the role.The actor previously appeared in minor roles for films like The Mule, but she has extensive training in martial arts, gymnastics and archery. She is also a longtime comic book reader and fan of Kate Bishop. In a bid to play the character, Artemis took to social media to make her case. Now, she is posting pictures of herself posing as Kate on Instagram -- and the result is pretty convincing.

"Since the beginning of my acting career, the idea of portraying a superhero, especially an archer, has been my ultimate goal. The idea of being given this opportunity has kept me motivated and driven to always push my limits," she wrote in one post. "It was just announced that Kate Bishop will be in the new Hawkeye series and I’m bursting from excitement!! To portray Kate would be an absolute dream come true and I would do everything in my power to bring justice to this character that I’ve seen myself in for years."

"What do you guys think? Would I make a good Kate Bishop?" she mused. "If you think so, it would mean a lot if you shared a post (even just on your story!) showing your support and together, let’s get Marvel’s attention!"

The Disney+ streaming service will launch this November. The Hawkeye series, starring Jeremy Renner, will premiere in fall 2021.

As for Artemis, she will appear in Stargirl, a live-action film based on Jerry Spinelli's novel of the same name. She will play Mallory Stillwell. The movie is expected to air on Disney+ sometime in 2020.
