As the posters make clear, Christmas in New York City will play a major role in the six-episode first (and possibly only) season of the show. Co-director Bert recently spoke about the setting and how it will factor into the story, teasing a tale unlike anything Marvel Cinematic Universe fans have seen so far.

"It's an absurd Christmas story," Bert said in a recent interview. "Just starting from that point, tonally, I was tickled. What does that mean? And it's throughout the whole series. It's not what you're expecting it to be... It's genuinely not what you expect from Marvel [Studios]."

The posters also draw from David Aja's comic book art, as have all the Hawkeye posters so far. Aja recently took to Twitter to call out Marvel Studios for not properly compensating the comic creatives who heavily inspire the MCU films.

Hawkeye will borrow more than just its iconography from the comics. Most of the characters, including villains like the Clown and the Tracksuit Mafia, come right from the pages of the seminal comic series from writer Matt Fraction and artists Aja and Annie Wu. Star Jeremy Renner recently confirmed that Clint's ongoing hearing loss will play a role on the show, a characteristic that resurfaced in the run after years of being downplayed. One notable issue even ditched the traditional dialogue, using ASL and symbols to tell the story.

Another iconic issue of the book was told entirely from Lucky's perspective. Adopted by Clint in the books, the show will see Kate bring the pup into the picture. And Marvel seems to know how beloved Lucky is sure to become given how much he's been featured in the show's marketing so far.

Hawkeye and Lucky arrive in a two-episode premiere Nov. 24 on Disney+.
