An artist created a hilarious work of Hawkeye fan art welcoming Daredevil and Kingpin to the Marvel Cinematic Universe by paying homage to a comedy classic. The image, which was created by visual artist Butcher Billy, depicts Kate Bishop and Clint Barton/Hawkeye barring a door to prevent Wilson Fisk/Kingpin from entering while Matt Murdock/Daredevil peaks in from the edge of the scene. The title reads "OH NO! IT'S... UNCLE FISK," referencing John Hughes' 1989 movie Uncle Buck, starring John Candy. Rumors have widely circulated that Vincent D'Onofrio will reprise his critically acclaimed role as Kingpin from Netflix's Daredevil and make his MCU debut as part of Disney+'s new series Hawkeye. While the actor previously debunked the rumors himself when a supposed picture of him on the set of Hawkeye emerged, D'Onofrio has also continued to troll MCU fans with social media posts that tease a possible appearance.

While D'Onofrio's reprisal has not been confirmed, some fans became convinced that Kingpin would appear in the series after the third episode of Disney+'s Hawkeye series, "Echoes," which delved into the past of Maya Lopez/Echo (Alaqua Cox). The episode featured a flashback scene with a large man, though his face was not revealed, who Echo only refers to as "Uncle." In a recent interview, Hawkeye directors Bert and Bertie were asked if Wilson Fisk would have a part to play in an upcoming episode, to which they responded, "Watching the show, you'll probably find out."

The debate about whether or not the pre-Disney+ superhero shows like The Punisher, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Agent Carter, Cloak and Dagger and Runaways are officially part of the MCU canon is still ongoing. However, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently confirmed that Charlie Cox, who appeared as the titular hero in Netflix's Daredevil series, will be the actor playing Daredevil in any MCU projects. "If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil," he stated in a previous interview. "Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen."

The first four episodes of Hawkeye are available on Disney+ with new episodes premiering every Wednesday. All the seasons of Daredevil and its companion shows Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and The Defenders are currently streaming on Netflix.
