The Marvel Cinematic Universe has done a spectacular job of turning Hawkeye into one of the more popular heroes. His arc from Avengers: Age of Ultron through Avengers: Endgame was fantastic. His on-screen story could've ended there but that's not the case as Jeremy Renner will be returning as Clint Barton for a Disney+ series.

The series, simply titled Hawkeye, is slated for a 2022 release. Not much is known about it, except that it is supposed to adapt the comic storyline where Barton passes on the Hawkeye mantle to Kate Bishop. People all over have high hopes on who gets the coveted fan-favorite role and some actors feel like they'd shine brightly as Bishop.

10 Ella Hunt

It's okay if you haven't heard much about Ella Hunt. Her career is really just starting to take off. She is most known for playing Sue Gilbert on the Apple TV+ series Dickinson. Though that show is focused on comedy, Hunt has also shown an ability to handle action.

She played the badass lead in the zombie musical Anna and the Apocalypse. Also, her lack of being a big star might work in her favor. Actors like Chris Hemsworth and Tom Holland weren't exactly household names before the MCU cast them as Thor and Spider-Man.

9 Lana Condor

Most people probably know Lana Condor for her role in the To All The Boys I've Loved Before franchise on Netflix. However, she actually has a fair amount of experience in the comic book genre. She portrayed Jubliee in X-Men: Apocalypse and Saya Kuroki in Deadly Class.

That means that the talented young actress might fit right in with the MCU. Jubliee didn't play a major role in those X-Men movies, so fans wouldn't be too distracted by seeing Condor in a completely different role.

8 Thomasin McKenzie

The youngest entry on this list but also the one who might've had the best showing in 2019. Thomasin McKenzie delivered a stellar performance in one of the year's best films, Jojo Rabbit. She also stunned in 2018's Leave No Trace, which has the second most reviews in history for a movie to hold a 100% Rotten Tomatoes rating.

Working alongside Taika Waititi and Scarlett Johansson can only help her get in with the rest of the folks in the MCU. McKenzie may not have a lot of experience in action or big-budget films but she'll certainly nail the drama.

7 Maya Hawke

There aren't many actors who had a more notable breakout performance in 2019 than Maya Hawke. She had the tough task of joining a beloved Stranger Things cast. She more than lived up to the work and became a highlight of the series, even surpassing some other members in popularity.

Joining the MCU is a huge deal but there is always a concern about how one will mesh with the rest of the cast. These people have worked together for years and have tremendous chemistry. Hawke has proven that she can join an established crew and her acting skills are enough to bring whatever is needed to Bishop.

6 Natasha Liu Bordizzo

Here's another name, like Ella Hunt, that you might not instantly recognize. Natasha Liu Bordizzo hasn't been acting for all that long but she has already impressed in each of her roles. Her biggest came in 2019, playing Helena in the first season of Netflix's The Society.

She showed off her dramatic chops there but also has a penchant for action. Bordizzo killed it in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny and more recently starred in Guns Akimbo. She may seem like an odd pick but so are a lot of MCU castings and they usually turn out great.

5 Danielle Rose Russell

Julie Plec and the folks behind The Vampire DiariesThe Originals, and now Legacies have a tendency to discover tremendous actors. They've done it again with Danielle Rose Russell, who excelled despite the tough task of taking on the role of Hope Mikaelson.

The series dives deep into the world of action, meaning Russell can most likely handle the physicality required for the role of Kate Bishop. She hasn't had much work outside of the series, which makes this the perfect opportunity to land the biggest opportunity of her career.

4 Liana Ramirez

Liana Ramirez is most known for her role as Robo-Roxy on Power Rangers Beast Morphers. Other than that, her filmography is mostly pretty bare. So, what makes Ramirez a great choice to possibly play Kate Bishop? Fans already seem to want it.

Ramirez tweeted a photo of herself in comparison to Kate Bishop because she was told they look alike. People ran with it, saying they loved the casting idea. They even tagged the Marvel Studios account a bunch of times to get them to pay attention and consider the star for the role.

3 Katherine Langford

When word broke that Katherine Langford was cast in Avengers: Endgame, the rumors piled up. Nobody knew who she would be playing. A trailer arrived that showed Clint Barton helping a girl shoot arrows and some fans thought it might be Langford as Kate Bishop.

That wasn't the case as it was Barton's daughter, while Langford played an adult Morgan Stark in an emotional deleted scene. Since that was cut out, the door is open to use the 13 Reasons Why star in a bigger role. Photos have recently surfaced of her new series Cursed, where she's wielding weapons and getting in on the action.

2 Kaitlyn Dever

For all of the impressive actors in 2019, an argument could be made that Kaitlyn Dever tops them all. After great performances in films like Short Term 12 and Detroit, 2019 saw her deliver incredible work in Booksmart and Unbelievable. Both were met with rave reviews.

Now that she has great drama and comedy under her belt, it might be time to try something new. She doesn't seem to have a ton lined up going forward, meaning she'd have plenty of time to film what would probably be a grueling series. Dever is a hot commodity in Hollywood and fans are looking forward to whatever is next for her. She has already expressed interest in playing Batgirl for DC.

1 Hailee Steinfeld

There really couldn't be another top choice. Hailee Steinfeld has had her named attached to the role for about as long as anyone can remember. For the most part, the idea has been met with an overwhelmingly positive response. Steinfeld has shined in comedy, drama, and even big-budget action with Bumblebee.

Steinfeld also voiced Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. Talks have seemed to stall regarding the casting, though Steinfeld noted that she feels she could handle it due to her experience. The incredible talent feels like an ideal choice to take on the role.
