Marvel Studios released an all-new promo for Disney+'s upcoming Hawkeye series, featuring more of both Hawkeyes as well as the first appearance of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's latest villain.

The new minute-long preview for Hawkeye is filled with plenty of action, holiday atmosphere and more than a few looks at both Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop. Also making an appearance is the villainous Clown, as actor Fra Fee's version of the murderous marksman can be seen at the trailer's 10-second mark. In that same moment, fans can also catch a glimpse of Maya Lopez, played by Alaqua Cox, who is secretly the deaf superhero, Echo. Both characters seem to be holding Clint hostage in the trailer, before he is rescued by Kate.

Making his comics debut in the Hawkeye series by Matt Fraction and David Aja, Kazimierz Kazimierczak (a.k.a The Clown) is an emotionless killer haunted by childhood memories of losing his circus family and best friend in a military conflict. As an assassin-for-hire, The Clown is hired to kill Clint by Ivan, the leader of the exploitive Tracksuit Mafia street gang. During his attempt to finish the job, however, The Clown winds up stabbing Clint in his ears with the archer's own arrows and leaving Hawkeye with severe hearing loss.

Meanwhile, the character Maya Lopez can use sound to mimic another person's movements with flawless precision. Presuming The Clown deals Clint a similar fate in the show as he does in the comics -- as was suggested by the confirmation of the character's hearing loss during a recent interview -- Maya's powers as Echo could prove to put a newly deafened Hawkeye at a severe disadvantage. Maya is typically a hero in the comics, so it is currently unclear why she appears to be working on The Clown's side, though it may have something to do with Wilson Fisk/Kingpin being her adopted father.

In addition to the plot, the show appears to be taking visual cues from the Fraction and Aja comic run as well, with a new poster for the Disney+ series seemingly modeled after the cover art for Hawkeye #6. Yet, shortly after the poster was released, Aja commented on Marvel Studios' lack of crediting visual tributes to the original artists, saying in a tweet, "Even better: Stop crediting, start paying, haha."

Hawkeye will premiere its first two episodes when the series begins streaming Nov. 25 on Disney+.
