WARNING: The following contains spoilers for the first two episodes of Hawkeye, now streaming on Disney+.

A fan of Marvel's Hawkeye spotted a small, but significant, continuity error in the Disney+ series.

At the end of The Avengers in 2012, the only letter left standing on Stark Towers is the "A," an indication of what would later become Avengers Tower in New York. During the Battle of New York, it was shown that the first letters to be blown off the building are "R" and "K," and then "S" and "T." Shared on Reddit by user Tajul92, it was pointed out that in the pilot episode of Hawkeye, "Never Meet Your Heroes," only the "R" had been blown off by the time Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) launches himself off a nearby building and swings into a window below.

Hawkeye released its first two episodes on Nov. 24. The first episode of the series revisited the Battle of New York from the first Avengers movie, but this time around the battle is seen from the perspective of a young Kate Bishop. During the battle, her father is killed and Kate sees Hawkeye for the first time fighting a legion of Chitauri. For Kate, this is the catalyst that leads her to take up a bow and arrow and become an award-winning archer, among other athletic achievements. Played by Hailee Steinfeld, the Disney+ series will follow a now-grown-up Kate Bishop as Clint Barton trains her to become the next Hawkeye.

"We wanted to figure out a pivotal moment that made sense for Kate to enter the MCU, especially through her eyes," said Hawkeye producer Trinh Tran in a previous interview regarding the return to this major moment in Avengers history. "Out of all of the moments, the most memorable one is [the] Battle of New York and we were trying to figure out, obviously, her age and how it fits within that time frame, as well as the experience and the events and everything. And [the] Battle of New York was just the perfect time, [especially] because of [Hawkeye's] iconic shot when he does that flip. I mean, I remember it to this day the first time I watched it."

The first season of Hawkeye will consist of six, hour-long episodes, though the series was originally intended to be a spinoff feature film exploring the Avenger in depth. However, with the inclusion of the Battle of New York, the introduction of new villains to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the relationship between Clint and Kate, the story was deemed too big for a solo film alone.

"The big question was, 'How are we going to fit all of this into a two-hour timeframe?' We have an Avenger whose backstory we haven’t quite had time to explore yet," Tran said in a previous interview. "We also have to introduce a new character [Steinfeld's Kate Bishop], as well as allow enough time for them to bond and create that special dynamic that everybody finds so appealing in the comics. So, in moving it over, it allowed us six hours, three times as much time, which really gave us the creative flexibility we needed to tell the story."
