Arrow star Stephen Amell gave his support to fellow superhero archer Hawkeye in preparation for the character's upcoming Marvel Studios/Disney+ series.

On his Twitter account, Amell shared a link to a tweet featuring the first official photo of both the original Hawkeye Clint Barton and his successor Kate Bishop, respectively played by Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld in the show. Above the tweet, Amell wrote, "Left-handed archers deserve a chance on TV." While Hawkeye is right-handed in the comics, Renner and the big-screen version of the character are left-handed.

Nothing is currently known about the plot of Hawkeye, although a recent rumor claims that Vincent D'Onofrio will reprise his role from Daredevil as the Kingpin in the series. It will also see Black Widow star Florence Pugh reprise her role as Yelena Belova and give way to a spinoff focused on the character Echo, who will be played by Alaqua Cox.

Renner delved into Kate Bishop's backstory in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, saying that Kate is "a 22-year-old kid" and "a big Hawkeye fan." "She has a wonderfully annoying and equally charming manner about her, because she's such a fangirl of Hawkeye," Renner added. "The relationship grows from that, but the biggest problem for Clint is Kate Bishop and the onslaught of problems that she brings into his life."

Hawkeye is set to premiere on Disney+ on Nov. 24.
