A new report suggests that one of the main players from Hawkeye may have a part in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

According to an article from Midgard Times, Hailee Steinfeld was spotted on the Quantumania set at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, UK. This leads to speculation that Kate Bishop will have a part in the threequel, perhaps having taken over the mantle of Hawkeye by this point. Should this prove true, she'd join other confirmed newcomers Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang, Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror and Bill Murray in an undisclosed role.

Steinfeld's appearance may indicate that Marvel Studios is indeed assembling a new team of fresh-faced heroes with its version of Young Avengers. Debuting in 2005, the group was made up of teenage admirers of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, gifted with their own spectacular abilities and united to fight injustice and follow in their idols' footsteps. Kate was one of the founding members of the team, alongside Cassie, who discovered her own size-shifting powers and took the superhero moniker Stature.

Marvel seems to have been laying the foundation for a Young Avengers story across many of its recent projects, particularly on the TV side of things. WandaVision introduced Wanda Maximoff's twin sons Billy and Tommy, who joined the Young Avengers as Wiccan and Speed, respectively. While the status of the twins is currently unknown, it's believed fans will get more concrete answers when Wanda appears in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which will also introduce another YA mainstay, America Chavez/Miss America (Xochitl Gomez). Later, in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, fans were introduced to Eli Bradley (Elijah Richardson), grandson of former super-soldier Isaiah Bradley and, in the comics, a star-spangled hero in his own right named the Patriot.

Kate's future on a team of like-minded adventurers was further hinted at a press conference promoting Hawkeye, where Steinfeld was asked how excited she was to join the "new group of Young Avengers" Phase Four seemed to be setting up. Steinfeld shared a look with Marvel Studios President/Marvel Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige before answering, "I mean, listen, I-- this feels so crazy to me right now, just sitting here with this group of people. I'm so grateful to be a part of this, this show and this universe. And it's only the beginning -- this show's not even out. So, I'm looking forward to that day."

Audiences can follow Kate Bishop's journey in Hawkeye, with new episodes streaming every Wednesday on Disney+. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits theaters on July 28, 2023.
