Although Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Clint Barton/Hawkeye didn't make an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War, the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame revealed that they would definitely appear in the sequel film. However, there's some details about those appearances you might have missed, and those details might just be very important to the upcoming movie.

Fans have a lot of theories about how Ant-Man and Ronin are going to factor into Endgame, and the trailer does give some indication of which of those theories might be correct. The mid-credits scene for Ant-Man and the Wasp revealed that, following Thanos' snap, Ant-Man was seemingly trapped in the Quantum Realm. Although there's no clear indication of how the hero escaped, there are a lot of rumors that Ant-Man's experience with the Quantum Realm will be integral to defeating Thanos and reversing the snap.

Barton, in contrast, didn't appear in Infinity War and had seemingly stepped away to spend time with his family. However, the fact that he's donning his Ronin costume in the sequel indicates that his loved ones might have died as a result of The Decimation, resulting in a much darker version of the character. Lending more credence to this theory is that Ronin tends to be a darker version of Barton/Hawkeye, and the loss of his family would certainly be justification for making this transformation.
