A new trailer for Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment's upcoming I Hate This Place is packed with aliens, demons, monsters and more terrifying horror.

CBR has the exclusive trailer premiere for I Hate This Place, a new supernatural horror series from writer Kyle Starks (Assassin Nation, The Six Sidekicks of Trigger Keaton), artist Artyom Topilin (Ice Cream Man Presents: Quarantine Comix Special), colorist Lee Loughridge (Deadly Class, The Good Asian) and letterer Pat Brosseau (Birthright, Manifest Destiny). The trailer sees a couple looking for a fresh start as they inherit a family farm. Once they arrive, the two quickly learn that the place is home to all kinds of supernatural terrors they could have never been prepared for. These terrors include all kinds of ghastly demon-like creatures capable of causing copious amounts of bloodshed.

The official synopsis for I Hate This Place #1 reads, "After inheriting a farmhouse, Trudy and Gabby are ready to start the next chapter of their lives together...except it's already home to a mysterious force that's attracted ghosts, aliens, and all kinds of supernatural beings for decades. Now, Gabby and Trudy must play by the 'house rules' in order to survive the most frightening place on Earth." X-Men writer Gerry Duggan praised the series for having "everything you want in a comic, and it should come with a neck brace as it shifts from crime, horror and romance at whiplash speeds."

Each issue of I Hate This Place will have open-to-order covers with clean and explicit options available for fans and retailers -- I Hate This Place and F*ck This Place, which is the series' original title. Both versions will be available at comic book shops on May 18. Standard editions will also be available on digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology and Google Play. "We’ve heard the requests from fans and retailers to have different versions of I Hate This Place #1 that meet their needs, so we’ve decided to offer a variety of options for each issue of the series,” said Skybound Entertainment editor Jon Moisan previously told Image Comics. “Kyle, Artyom and Lee have created a captivating horror series that really speaks to the fears we have about our uncertain futures, and we know you’re going to fall in love with the first issue, no matter the title on the cover.”

I Hate This Place #1 comes from Starks, Topilin, Loughridge and Brosseau, with cover art by Topilin and Loughridge.

The issue releases May 18 from Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment.
