Marvel Legends has started a campaign to back its latest figure, a notably massive one at that. The new figure is a sizeable version of a mechanical Sentinel, a machine that has plagued the X-Men for years.
The crowdfunding campaign was launched on Hasbro Pulse. Backers have until August 24 to support the project. At the time of writing, 4,544 of the 6,000 targeted backers have donated to the campaign.

The Sentinel figure stands 26.3 inches tall and features working LEDs in its head and chest. It will come with an 18-inch tentacle attachment-- the telescoping appendage that the Sentinel uses to capture mutant targets. In addition, backers will recieve a 6-inch Marvel Legends figure of Bastion, the humanoid Sentinel Prime; Bastion also comes with a Sentinel Prime head. Finally, all backers will recieve a digital copy of X-Men #14, which features the first appearance of the Sentinels.
This is not the first time Hasbro has launched a crowdfunding campaign to create a figure. Last year, a campaign was launched to support a figure of the planet eating Transformer Unicron. That campaign, unfortunately, did not meet its intended goal.
