Among all the fan-favorite franchises to debut in the '80s, the Ghostbusters and Transformers each thrilled millions of fans worldwide and a new toy exclusive to Comic-Con International in San Diego next month will combine the best of both worlds.

Hasbro has unveiled an Optimus Prime figure that can transform between its recognizable big rig vehicle mode to the mighty leader of the Autobots with a visible twist: This incarnation of Optimus comes in the familiar white and red color scheme of the Ecto-1, the Ghostbusters' main ride with an advertisement for the ghost hunters' services on the side adorned with green slime.

To better handle paranormal threats, Optimus has his own proton pack to dispel and capture ghosts while Slimer comes with a large trap that can transform into a pad for the Autobot. The packaged toys come in a Ghostbusters/Transformers-branded pack that can be worn like a backpack.

Hasbro had previously announced a transforming action figure named Ectotron, an Autobot that transformed between the Ecto-1 and robot, this past February. In addition to the mash-up figure, IDW Publishing announced they would publish a comic book miniseries this summer featuring the new character.
