Following the announcement last month of "Transformers 5" as well as an animated feature, Hasbro has revealed the franchise is being mapped out for the next decade, with "Transformers" 6, 7 and 8 also in the works.

"We just finished, as some of you may have read, just an incredible experience," Hasbro Studios President Steven J. Davis said over the weekend at MIPJunior in Cannes, France. "We decided that we wanted to plot out the next 10 years of the 'Transformers' franchise, so we got together in a room over a three-month period of time. Nine of some of the most creative writers I have ever worked with, shepherded by Akiva Goldsman, who many of you may know won an Academy Award for 'A Beautiful Mind' and written a bunch of great movies. And they plotted out the next 10 years of 'Transformers.' Similarly, we are doing the same in television and in digital. So stay tuned, Transformers' 5 is on its way, and 6 and 7 and 8.”

Davis was referring to the "Transformers" writers' room, which includes Robert Kirkman (“The Walking Dead”), Zak Penn (“Pacific Rim”), Jeff Pinkner (“The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” “Fringe”), Christina Hodson (“Shut In”), Lindsey Beer (Disney’s “Dig”), Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (“Iron Man”), Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari ("Ant-Man"), Ken Nolan (“Black Hawk Down”), Geneva Robertson (“Hibernation”) and Steven S. DeKnight (“Daredevil”).

Goldsman will write Paramount Pictures' "Transformers 5," with "Age of Extinction's" Mark Wahlberg returning to star. Although it was initially indicated that Michael Bay will once again direct, the filmmaker was quick to clarify, "No, it's not official. I have not committed to any idea as of yet."

Barrer and Ferrari, meanwhile, are set to tackle the animated movie, an origin story set on Cybertron.
