Following Lucasfilm cutting ties with actor Gina Carano due to her controversial social media postings, reports are out that indicate that Hasbro also plans to scale back their involvement with Carono's character from Star Wars: The Mandalorian, Cara Dune, with two upcoming Cara Dune action figure releases rumored to be canceled.

The well-respected Star Wars action figure site, Yak Face Forums, reported:

In light of the recent events surrounding the character of Cara Dune, we’ve received word that the planned reissues of the 6″ Black Series and Vintage Collection figures have been cancelled. Hasbro still intends to release the Retro Collection version as planned.

Carano had made a number of controversial posts on social media, including anti-mask rhetoric and support of Donald Trump's false claims of the 2020 United States Presidential election being "stolen" from him, but it was a recent posting comparing European Jews in the years leading up to the Holocaust to people with conservative views in America in 2021 that drew enough of an uproar that a spokesperson for Lucasfilm announced, "Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable."

Carano reportedly had already lost an planned Cara Dune spinoff series due to her previous comments, but now she is finished with the Star Wars franchise period and, apparently, her action figure future does not look much brighter.

The Star Wars Black Series is made up of six-inch versions of the Star Wars characters. Cara Dune appeared in that series in 2019 as the part of its latest wave of figures (there have been about 12 waves of Black Series individual figures since 2015).

The Star Wars Vintage Collection is made up of figures the same height as the classic Kenner figures (3.75 inches tall), but with modern design elements and articulation) with packaging that looks like the original Kenner designs. The Cara Dune figure debuted in February 2020, with a special Walmart exclusive "Carbonized" version of the figure released in October 2020 (with painting to make the figure look like it was in Carbonite).

The Retro figures take the Kenner throwback concept even further and use the same articulation and designs from the original Kenner figures. That Cara Dune figure is still scheduled to be released...

However, apparently the re-releases of those other figures have been halted along with Cara Dune's future with the Star Wars franchise.
