One of the many things that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans found disturbing about the Michael Bay-produced adaptation was the revelation last year that Paramount Pictures had renamed the movie Ninja Turtles.

TMNT Lair reports, however, that the studio has changed back to the franchise's original title, at least according to a logo revealed at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

When the name was officially changed, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles might have seemed a bit clunky as far as titles go, but a few months later Nickelodeon launched a new CGI cartoon that has become incredibly popular. Never underestimate the power of brand recognition.

The movie, which just began filming under the watchful eye of director Jonathan Liebesman, stars Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo and Megan Fox as April O’Neal and Danny Woodburn as Splinter.

The film was recently rewritten by Evan Daugherty (Snow White and the Huntsman), and is scheduled for a June 6, 2014 release.
