Actor and musician Harry Styles, who briefly played Eros/Starfox in a post-credits scene in Chloé Zhao's Eternals, joked about never returning to the MCU.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Styles noted that his cameo in Eternals has been his only time participating in a Marvel Studios project so far. "It'd be funny if that was it, wouldn't it?" he said.

Despite Styles' comment, it is likely Eternals won't be the last time Styles appears as Starfox, according to Marvel Studios President and Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige. In a July interview, Feige confirmed that more Starfox content is on its way, though he did not confirm how or when he will appear. "The adventures of Eros and Pip is something that is very exciting to us," he said, also confirming that Pip the Troll, voiced by Patton Oswalt, will appear again as well. Feige also teased Starfox's future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in December 2021, saying that "as the MCU continues into the cosmic arena, there are ideas" for the character.

Will Starfox Return to the MCU?

Oswalt, who appeared as Pip the Troll alongside Styles in 2021's Eternals, has previously expressed his eagerness to return to the character, possibly in a potential spinoff. "That would be amazing if [a Pip/Starfox spinoff happened]," he said, "because it seems to me that every time Marvel has rolled the dice on these kind of B or C-level characters that everyone's like, 'Oh, who cares about them?' That's where they end up kind of really blossoming." In a more recent August interview, Oswalt seemingly confirmed that an Eternals sequel was in the works, with Zhao set to return as director.

"They have announced there's going to be an Eternals sequel," Oswalt said. "Chloé Zhao is going to direct it. So, hopefully there will be more adventures of Starfox and Pip." However, Marvel Studios had not announced a follow-up to Eternals, and the future of both Pip and Starfox remains unconfirmed.

Eternals premiered in theaters in November 2021. Shortly after its theatrical debut, Styles commented on his role in the film. "I'm only in right at the very end," he said. "But who didn't grow up wanting to be a superhero, you know? It was a great experience and I'm so grateful to have gotten to work with Chloé [Zhao]."

Currently, Styles is starring alongside Florence Pugh in the film Don't Worry Darling, directed by Olivia Wilde and is set to hit theaters on Sept. 23. The film follows a couple who move to a suburban utopia, though its dark underbelly quickly emerges. Styles also has a role in the upcoming drama My Policeman, directed by Michael Grandage.

Marvel's Eternals is currently available to stream on Disney+.
