David Yates might not have been around through the entire Harry Potter film series, but he brought it all home as the director of the last four out of eight releases. The takeaway for today’s purposes being, he knows how to steer a franchise. So, too, does his Potter producer pal Steve Kloves, with whom Yates is sharing a negotiating table as a final deal is worked out for the two to develop an adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand for Warner Bros.
Hitfix reports that the repeat performance for the duo would see them re-teaming for “a multi-movie version” of the lengthy book, which was previously adapted as a made-for-TV miniseries. Yates had previously discussed his possible involvement in the adaptation, but Kloves’ involvement is news.
