A new teaser trailer for Harry Potter: Wizards Unite may give fans of the popular wizarding universe a look at some of the gameplay they can expect when the upcoming mobile game releases next year.
The video shows several riderless nimbi flying down an abandoned road in Sydney, Australia. They're caught on a speed camera going over 240 km/h (149 mph). Towards the end of the video, a set of perforated lines appear over top an image of one of the broomsticks. There's an arrow connected to those perforated lines that indicates a direction of motion, potentially indicating what a player must do to succeed.
At the end of the trailer, viewers are directed to enlist at WizardsUnite.com. Players will join the newly formed Statute of Secrecy Task Force, whose mission is to contain the traces of magic that are appearing across the Muggle world.
Originally targeted to arrive this year, Wizards Unite is being developed by Warner Bros. Games and Niantic Labs, which created Pokemon GO. Wizards Unite is expected to employ a similar style of location-based augmented reality game play. However, at this time, a lot of details about how the game will work are still unknown.
Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will release sometime in 2019.
