It's been 20 years since the theatrical release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and to celebrate Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is re-releasing the film on Digital, Blu-ray and DVD, along with a new Magical Movie Mode.

According to an official press release from Wizarding World, the re-release will be available for purchase on Aug. 17 and will come with a Magical Movie Mode that allows "fans to rewatch Harry's first adventure in a whole new way." Throughout the film, special graphic and audio features appear on select scenes, providing fun facts and tidbits about Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone.

The re-release also includes other special features, like the director's commentary from Chris Columbus (who also directed Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and produced Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban), several deleted scenes and a quiz to test fan's knowledge on the film. Wizarding World teases more announcements coming soon, as the re-release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is only one part of the 20th-anniversary celebrations.

Upon its release, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone received positive reviews from critics and fans alike. The film was nominated for three Oscars at the 2002 Academy Awards (Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Best Costume Design and Best Music, Original Score) and several BAFTA Film Awards in 2002 including Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for Robbie Coltrane's depiction of Hagrid. Along with the rest of the Harry Potter film series, Sorceror's Stone also won the Contribution to Cinematic Imagery Award at the 2012 Art Directors Guild Awards.

For those who can't wait before The Magical Movie Mode, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is currently available to stream on Peacock and HBO Max.
