In the Marvel Universe, magic is a strange and wonderful thing that is readily shared with the world, although only a select few can truly use it. It takes years of study to become a true master of the mystic arts, and most people just don't have the time to dedicate to the arts.

In the world of Harry Potter, it also takes years to master magic. Unlike Marvel, magic is kept secret and for the people in the magic world, a lot of the spells are rather mundane. Still, there's sure to be some things the students at Hogwarts could learn from the magic users of the Marvel universe, but who would be best suited to teach them? Here are five Marvel magicians who would be great Hogwarts teachers, and five who would be terrible.

10 Great Teacher: Doctor Druid

Introduced to readers as Dr. Droom in Amazing Adventures #1, Anthony Ludgate Druid came to his senses and changed his superhero name to Doctor Druid later on. A telepath and magician who focuses on hypnosis, Dr. Druid is also an expert in the occult. While he wouldn't be the greatest witch or wizard to teach at Hogwarts, his knowledge of the world of magic would make him a strong History of Magic teacher. Doctor Druid uses ancient druid magic for his spells, and this is an area of spellcasting that the other teachers at Hogwarts appear to ignore.

9 Terrible Teacher: Doctor Doom

While he is best known for his scientific abilities, Doctor Doom is also a skilled magic user who has turned to spells and incantations to battle the Fantastic Four and the Avengers in the past. And while his ego and belief that he should rule the world would make the students in Slytherin idolize him, Doom would be a terrible addition to the Hogwarts staff.

With little doubt, Doctor Doom would believe that he should be headmaster of Hogwarts, and before long he would be using his blasters in an attempt to kill Dumbledore or McGonagall, depending on when he comes to the school. While he wouldn't stand much of a chance in a battle with a Hogwarts teacher, that wouldn't stop Doctor Doom from trying time and again.

8 Great Teacher: Daimon Hellstrom

The Son of Satan may seem like a weird choice as a great possible teacher for Hogwarts. However, his past shows that he is not only an amazing magic user but also that his heart is pure and true. Born to bring about the end of the world, Daimon Hellstrom instead turned against his destiny and his father to become a protector of humanity.

Considering that his family tree is made up of literal demons, Daimon Hellstrom is a great choice to teach Demonology. Not only could he inform the students about the evils that lurk in hell, he probably has some funny stories about them to share as well.

7 Terrible Teacher: Loki

As the Asgardian god of mischief, Loki would make a great spokesman for Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, but he would probably be a joke as a teacher. Too caught up in himself, and too ready to go on long stories about his past victories, Loki would be little more than a version of Gilderoy Lockhart who is actually good at magic.

Just like Doctor Doom, it is his evilness that really makes Loki a bad choice to be a teacher at Hogwarts. His conniving nature and desire for power would lead the Master of Manipulation to look for ways to use the students to fulfill his own wants.

6 Great Teacher: Agatha Harkness

Agatha Harkness Scarlet Witch

Agatha Harkness isn't just a great magic user, she understands the importance of keeping magic a secret. Harkness barely survived the Salem Witch Trials and moved, with many other magic users to New Salem, Colorado, a safe and secret place for witches and wizards in the Marvel universe.

Harkness also has a background in teaching, having trained Scarlet Witch in the ways of true magic, and after seeing how Scarlet Witch used her abilities, Agatha understands the need to make sure the people you teach magic to are mentally stable. She was also the governess of Franklin Richards, taking care of the child while his parents, Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman, went on adventures as part of the Fantastic Four. Agatha Harkness would be a fantastic addition to the Hogwarts staff.

5 Terrible Teacher: Enchantress

Enchantress

While she would surely be popular with many students, Enchantress's good looks are only skin deep. An Asgardian, Enchantress not only has superhuman strength, speed, and stamina but she is also a powerful magic-user. Enchantress has shown off her magical abilities time and again, using them to not only make herself more attractive, but also levitate, control minds, disrupt time, and create illusions.

Sadly, her evil ways would lead to Enchantress causing a great deal of chaos at Hogwarts, and we're pretty sure her outfits do not meet the dress code of the most famous school for witches and wizards.

4 Great Teacher: Doctor Strange

The Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange is not only one of the most powerful magicians in the Marvel universe, but he would also be one of the most powerful in the Harry Potter world has well. Aside from Potions, there may not be a class that Doctor Strange couldn't teach, so he would be a great fit for just about any staff opening at the school.

Doctor Strange would also be a great ally to have if Voldermort or any other threat came to Hogwarts. As a member of the Avengers and Defenders, as well as with his own missions, Doctor Strange has proven to be a great fighter who won't give up.

3 Terrible Teacher: Baron Mordo

Baron Mordo

A longtime foe of Doctor Strange, Baron Mordo is one of the most experienced magicians in the Marvel universe. While his skills as a dark magic user could make him a perfect teacher for the Dark Arts class, the last thing Hogwarts needs is another Dark Arts teacher who is trying to kill everyone in the school.

Baron Mordo has the skills and the knowledge, but none of the temperament or goodness that it takes to be a good teacher. Like so many others on this list, his greed and ego stand in the way of Mordo being a great teacher.

2 Great Teacher: Ancient One

Magic Quiz Ancient One

Growing up on a farm in Kamar-Taj, the Ancient One wanted to make his village into a utopia when he first learned that magic was real. As he worked on making this goal a reality with his friend Kaluu, the Ancient One was forced to quit the spell when he realized that Kaluu's personal goal was to become king of the village.

All of this, along with hundreds of years of training others, makes the Ancient One a great choice to be a teacher at Hogwarts. Of everyone on this list, the Ancient One is best suited to not only teach at the school but to serve as its headmaster if needed.

1 Terrible Teacher: Morgan le Fay

Morgan le Fay with arms raised and looking down in Marvel Comics.

A sorceress in the Sixth Century, Morgan le Fay was the leader of the cult of the Darkhold and worked with her fellow members to use the Darkhold to summon its author, the dark god Chthon. When it was clear to the cult that they would not be able to control Chthon, they sealed the entity in Wundagore Mountain. This is the exact kind of thing you don't want the person who teaches your kids to be doing. Time and again, Morgan le Fay has made poor choices, leading her to a life of evil, and there is no sign of that changing anytime soon.
