The announcement came at the end of a segment honoring Williams, who wrote the score for many of the Star Wars films, including the original trilogy. After concluding the new Obi-Wan Kenobi theme song, Williams told the crowd they had something special for them before he began to conduct the famous score from Raiders of the Lost Ark. As the song ended, Harrison Ford appeared on stage to rapturous applause, then took a moment to congratulate Williams on his 90th birthday before making the film announcements.

"It's a great pleasure to be here," Ford said. "Especially to be able to congratulate John on his 90th birthday. I told John on another occasion that music follows me everywhere I go, and you know what, I'm happy about it." He then added, "That was music was playing in the operating room when I had my last colonoscopy," to laughter from the crowd.

There's little information known about Indiana Jones 5, which is rumored to be titled Indy. The film went into development following the reboot of the series with 2008's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. However, it has suffered numerous delays since Indy's last adventure fourteen years ago. Set images also suggested Indiana Jones 5 might include a time-travel plot, as it features what appear to be Roman gladiators wielding historically accurate weapons. Other photos showed the first glimpse of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who reportedly plays Indy's assistant in the film. Apart from Ford and Waller-Bridge, actor Mads Mikkelsen is also set to star as a Nazi scientist.

Indiana Jones 5 is currently scheduled to release on June 30, 2023.
