WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Harley Quinn Season 2, Episode 12, "Lovers' Quarrel," now streaming on DC Universe.

Season 2 of Harley Quinn has brought salvation to Gotham once more thanks to the Justice League. They returned with the help of the Joker following Harley's failed attempt to take the city, and a change of heart, as she realized her destiny wasn't meant to be filled with ash and brimstone.

However, it doesn't go according to plan, as the DC Trinity -- Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman -- find the city overrun with Parademons, and the twisted Dr. Psycho has King Shark, Clayface and Poison Ivy brainwashed and cutting loose. What makes it even worse is, in the heat of battle, Superman has to take time out to address Wonder Woman for being racist.

The Trinity is in full swing, with Diana using her shield and sword to gut Parademons. The Dark Knight is busy employing his vast array of gadgets, and the Man of Steel is using heat vision and super-strength to pummel the soldiers of Apokolips. Basically, it's business as usual, until Diana uses her lasso to rope in a Parademon for interrogation.

In the inquisition, she demands to know where Psycho is situated, only for the creature to respond with a scream. Instinctively, she looks to Kal-El to translate. However, the Last Son of Krypton is disappointed at her presumptuous nature. "Oh, what? Because I'm an alien, I understand all alien languages," Superman responds, which leaves Diana wide-eyed and shocked, as she probably didn't mean any offense.

Kal does admit, "I know a little Parademon." However, he adamantly adds, "it's still a racist assumption. Be better!" Wonder Woman responds by rolling her eyes, and while it's funny, it does hold truth since Diana can't assume Superman has certain knowledge simply because of his alien heritage.

They leave on good terms due to their years of experience together, but Superman definitely isn't overreacting. This moment is a comedic yet genuinely good lesson for both Wonder Woman and viewers. One cannot assume something of others because of their race. Maybe Diana believed that because Aquaman can speak to all aquatic life, Superman can speak to all alien life, but again, that is an ignorant train of thought, so the call out is justified. It's also ironic since Psycho did call her the c-word, and he got berated publicly for it, so luckily no one else was present for this moment.

This fits the dry wit and wry style of the show, which definitely loves its dark comedy. It's also interesting to see Harley Quinn taking shots at DC heroes and getting them to jab at each other. The series already poked fun at The Last Jedi and #SnyderCut fans, so here it's just some friendly banter and education among colleagues in the workplace. After all, that kind of behavior could land Diana in the midst of a cosmic crisis, so the more the warrior princess knows, the better.

DC Universe's Harley Quinn stars Kaley Cuoco, Lake Bell, Diedrich Bader, Alan Tudyk, Rahul Kohli, Christopher Meloni, Tony Hale, Ron Funches, Wanda Sykes, Natalie Morales, Jim Rash, Giancarlo Esposito, Jason Alexander and J.B. Smoove. New episodes air on Fridays.
