A Harley Quinn announcement is set to arrive on June 28, and it seems to involve the Court of Owls.On Twitter, series co-creator Patrick Schumacker shared a photo of Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn holding hands while wearing owl masks. They're surrounded by a number of other people in owl masks. In his caption, Schumacker said a "special announcement" would arrive on June 28, writing "it's a real HOOT!" Created by Schumacker, Justin Halpern and Dean Lorey, Harley Quinn debuted in 2019 on DC Universe, a now-defunct streaming platform featuring TV shows based on the titular company's comic book characters. In the show, Harley Quinn and the Joker break up, leading her to form her own crew to prove herself one of Gotham City's best criminals. The show returned for a second season in 2020, which ended with Quinn officially striking up a romantic relationship with Poison Ivy. Plot details about Season 3 are unknown at this time, but What We Do in the Shadows star Harvey Guillén will play Dick Grayson/Nightwing in the show's next outing.

Both seasons of Harley Quinn have proven a hit for Warner Bros. both commercially and critically. At the time of writing, Harley Quinn Seasons 1 and 2 hold an 89 percent and 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, respectively. Additionally, Noonan's, a spinoff series centered on Charles Brown/Kite Man and Golden Glider, was given a ten-episode order in April.

Created by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, the Court of Owls first appeared in 2011's Batman #3. The Court of Owls is a secretive cabal of Gotham City's most powerful individuals that manipulates events to their advantage. The group was the Dark Knight's first major new antagonist of the New 52 era and has since appeared in several comics storylines as well as in the DC Animated Movie Universe and the Gotham TV series.

Harley Quinn returns for Season 3 in July, though the exact date is not known at this time. The first two seasons of Harley Quinn are available to stream now on HBO Max.
