HBO Max's Harley Quinn animated series has found its Nightwing in What We Do in the Shadows star Harvey Guillén.

According to Deadline, Guillén will voice the character of Dick Grayson/Nightwing in the upcoming third season of Harley Quinn. Known for his role as Guillermo de la Cruz on FX's What We Do in the Shadows, Guillén certainly seems to be making his presence felt in the world of DC, having recently been cast in the DC Extended Universe film Blue Beetle in an undisclosed role.

Speaking of DC projects, Guillén also starred in an episode of The CW's iZombie, based on the Vertigo Comics series of the same name. Currently, he is gearing up to voice the character of Perro in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, the upcoming sequel to DreamWorks Animation's 2011 Shrek spinoff film Puss in Boots.

Created by Bill Finger, Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson, Dick Grayson -- the first character to take up the mantle of Robin, Batman's sidekick -- made his debut in 1940's Detective Comics #38. Dick was later reimagined as Nightwing by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, with the former Boy Wonder debuting the new persona in 1984's Tales of the Teen Titans #44.

Thus far, the adult-oriented Harley Quinn animated series has already featured a number of members of the Bat-family, including Bruce Wayne/Batman (Diedrich Bader), Damian Wayne/Robin (Jacob Tremblay) and Barbara Gordon/Batgirl (Briana Cuoco). It remains to be seen what role Nightwing will play in Season 3, though the character did appear in Harley Quinn: The Animated Series: The Eat. Bang! Kill. Tour, a tie-in comic book limited series set between Seasons 2 and 3.

Harley Quinn, naturally, follows Harley Quinn (Kaley Cuoco), who sets out to make a name for herself after breaking up with the Joker (Alan Tudyk). Harley is joined by her partner in crime -- and eventual girlfriend --  Poison Ivy (Lake Bell). The show initially ran for two seasons on the now-defunct DC Universe streaming service from November 2019 to June 2020. Amid the restructuring of DC Universe, Harley Quinn's two existing seasons were moved to HBO Max.

In September 2020, HBO Max officially ordered a third season of the show. While a release date for the new season remains up in the air, Harley Quinn showrunner Patrick Schumacker recently confirmed that the first audio mix for Season 3 had been finished. Additionally, a spinoff series titled Noonan's -- which stars Poison Ivy's ex-fiancé, Kite Man (Matt Oberg) -- is currently in the works. It is described as being "kind of like Cheers for supervillains."

At any rate, Guillén's Nightwing isn't the only newcomer joining the main Harley Quinn series in Season 3. The Suicide Squad and Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn is confirmed to be voicing himself in the series. Co-showrunner Justin Halpern also previously confirmed that the Batman villain known as the Mad Hatter would play a role in Season 3.
