Harley Quinn will be back later this year -- just as soon as the titular anti-hero and Poison Ivy are done with their tropical vacation.
The official Harley Quinn Twitter account shared a new image of the happy couple along with a release window for when Season 3 of the adult animated series will hit HBO Max. "The hottest duo Gotham’s ever seen," the tweet reads. "And we're back this summer b*tches!"
The accompanying image sees Harley and Ivy relaxing on the beach, toasting each other with champagne served up by a resort staff member. But while the two seem to be basking in the relaxing glow of the sunny locale, fans can likely still expect plenty of bloody and profane antics when the pair and the series return this summer.
HBO Max has been teasing Season 3 of the hit series for some time. Harley voice actor Kaley Cuoco, meanwhile, promised the upcoming episodes will have lots of incredible guest stars. "It's ridiculous," the actor said. "It gets more and more insane." The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker director James Gunn will join the animated universe, while What We Do in the Shadows' Harvey Guillen will play Nightwing.
Despite the plethora of guest stars, however, Harley and Ivy will remain the focal point of the series. "They are living life, loving each other, fighting…" Cuoco said of the partnership between the two iconic anti-heroes. "Their relationship is the main focal point of this season, and it's hilarious and actually really, really sweet."
Outside of the duo of Harley and Ivy, the side characters will be getting some extra love. In addition to the upcoming third season of the flagship show, breakout character Kite Man will get a spinoff, with Warner Bros. ordering Noonan's to series at HBO Max in April. The show will see Kite Man and new girlfriend/fellow D-list villain Golden Glider commit crimes in order to keep the titular bar afloat. Given the watering hole's prominence, expect lots of other DC characters to pass through its doors when the series arrives.
