Comic artist Artgerm unveiled his variant covers for DC's upcoming Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy #1.
The artist revealed the interacting covers via his Twitter page. The single image includes both the series' titular characters, but will be split across two separate variant editions for publication.
The six-issue mini-series is written by Jody Hauser and drawn by Adriana Melo. Elena Casagrande will provide the first issue's standard cover.
The series takes place following the events of Tom King, Clay Mann and Mitch Gerads' Heroes in Crisis. In that series, Ivy was inadvertently killed by Wally West, aka The Flash, before in turn being resurrected by him later in a new elemental-like form. Harley, along with Booster Gold, was originally framed for Ivy's murder, along with that of dozens of other heroes.
The solicitation for the first issue states, "Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are taking their show on the road in this new miniseries! They'll have to evade villains and heroes alike while they explore their relationship and unpack their time and experiences at Sanctuary. Set after the events of Heroes in Crisis and smack in the middle of "Year of the Villain," it's a journey across the DC Universe that will change their friendship forever...if they live that long!"
Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy #1 goes on sale September 4.
