Warner Bros. may be preparing for the next big-screen appearance by Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn.

According to DCEU Mythic's Jeremy Conrad, the studio has begun early discussions on where Harley Quinn will appear next in the DC Extended Universe. Of course, this could mean Harley Quinn could star in her own solo movie, or take part in another ensemble feature like this year's Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).

Robbie first appeared as Harley Quinn in 2016's Suicide Squad by director David Ayer. After the character's popularity skyrocketed, there were reports of teaming Harley Quinn up with Jared Leto's Joker for a film co-starring the duo. Harley Quinn was also slated to appear in a Gotham City Sirens film from Suicide Squad's Ayer. Gotham City Sirens would have seen Harley Quinn join Catwoman and Poison Ivy to battle Gotham City's greatest villains. Instead, Robbie's character pivoted over to Birds of Prey.

Harley Quinn will return as Margot Robbie in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, alongside her Suicide Squad co-stars Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman and Jai Courtney.

Written and directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad stars Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, David Dastmalchian, John Cena, Joaquin Cosio, Nathan Fillion, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi, Alice Braga, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchior, Peter Capaldi, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Idris Elba and Michael Rooker. The film is currently scheduled for an August 6, 2021 release date.
