DC's Harley Quinn is getting a new creative team as writer Tini Howard and artist Sweeney Boo are boarding the series in 2023.

DC announced Howard (Catwoman, Punchline: The Gotham Game) and Boo (The Joker, Batman: Urban Legends) will take over the ongoing Harley Quinn solo series with Harley Quinn #28, which goes on sale in March of 2023. The publisher said Howard and Boo's run will continue off of the current Harley Quinn series and give fans the "continuing adventures of the one and only Harley Quinn, with more gags, cameos, and Ivy than ever!"

DC Names New Harley Quinn Creative Team of Tini Howard and Sweeney Boo

DC's Harley Quinn run began in 2021 from writer Stephanie Phillips and artist Riley Rossmo. Rossmo departed from the series after Harley Quinn #17, with artist Georges Duarte taking over in the following issue. Recent storylines have seen Harley Quinn return back to Earth after a trip to the moon with the newly created Task Force XX team. Task Force XX didn't return alone, however, as they brought an alien along with them that bonded to Solomon Grundy and briefly gave him the ability to talk. While the alien intended to invade the entire planet, Task Force XX was able to stop it only after Luke Fox, Batman/Jace Fox's brother and leader of the team, briefly donned a new, Black Panther-like superhero costume. The story concludes in the Harley Quinn 2022 Annual #1, which ends with Harley hanging out in Las Vegas with a new "pet" martian creature.

Celebrating the History of Harley Quinn

Created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm, Harley Quinn first appeared in the 1992 "Joker's Favor" episode of Batman: The Animated Series before making her way into comics with 1993's The Batman Adventures #12. While initially portrayed as the Joker's criminal girlfriend, more recent depictions have seen Harley leave the Clown Prince of Crime and set off on her own path as an antihero. She's since started a romantic relationship with Poison Ivy/Pamela Isley.
