Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie recently revealed which prop she stole from the 2016 DC Extended Universe blockbuster's set.

Robbie admitted to making off with her character's iconic weapon in an interview with ELLE alongside her Amsterdam co-stars Rami Malek and John David Washington. "I've got my Harley Quinn baseball bat next to my bed," she said. "Just in case anyone makes the mistake of breaking into my house. They'll regret that." Harley's baseball bat is instantly recognizable thanks to the phrase "Good night" and lengthy paragraphs of cursive writing printed on its barrel, as well as the harlequin-inspired diamond pattern just above its handle.

Robbie first brandished Harley Quinn's baseball bat during Suicide Squad, which was also her debut outing as the supervillain turned antihero. The Aussie actor subsequently reprised the role a further two times, in 2020's Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) and 2021's The Suicide Squad. Director James Gunn, who helmed The Suicide Squad, has since confirmed that Harley Quinn will return in additional, as-yet-unannounced DCEU projects. Gunn didn't explicitly state that Robbie herself was on board for these projects, however, the consensus among fans is that this is indeed the case.

David Ayer's Suicide Squad Comeback is Debunked

Should Robbie play Harley again, Suicide Squad director David Ayer apparently won't be calling the shots. Responding to a fan on Twitter, Gunn shot down a recent rumor claiming that Ayer is the frontrunner to direct the third film in the franchise, which would supposedly ignore Gunn's own sequel. The rumor also held that Suicide Squad lead actor Will Smith is in talks to reprise the Deadshot role in Suicide Squad 3, another development that Gunn's blanket response also seemingly rules out. Warner Bros. is yet to officially comment on the future of the Suicide Squad franchise.

The studio is decidedly more open about Suicide Squad's past, though. While fans continue to lobby for the release of the "Ayer Cut," a completely overhauled version of the first installment in the franchise that reflects Ayer's original vision for the movie, Warner Bros. representatives are adamant the project won't happen. Several members of the Suicide Squad cast and crew have nevertheless voiced their support for the Ayer Cut and Ayer Cut behind-the-scenes photos continue to surface online. Notably, these photos include a snap of Robbie clad in a wedding dress dusted in Harley's signature red-and-blue color scheme taken while shooting pick-ups.

Suicide Squad is currently streaming on HBO Max.
