Following the incredible finale for season two of Harley Quinn, many are anxiously awaiting the arrival of a potential season three. At the moment though, season three of the series hasn't been officially announced, but the popularity of it thus far has made it more than likely.

Furthermore, with so many ways to develop these characters further, the possibilities are endless for the next season. Looking at some more specific aspects, here is a list of the things that need to happen in a potential third season of Harley Quinn on DC Universe.

10 More Humor

With a character like Harley Quinn, there is bound to be a lot of humor throughout a series centered entirely on her. In this regard, the first season really did a good job of balancing the chaos, humor, and drama throughout Harley's various adventures.

Of course, season two still had plenty of truly hysterical moments, but it lost some time on repetitive jokes or within the nature of the situation. While the dip in humor does make sense for the plot of season two, it would be nice to see some more of it for the third season.

9 Less Batman

Harley Quinn and Batman

As one of the biggest heroes in the entire DC universe, it makes sense for Batman to have had such a strong appearance in Harley Quinn's first season. However, the insanely popular nature of the character did seem to take away from the titular character at times, which was something season twi actually did very well.

Granted, Batman still got an entire episode dedicated to him, but he was scarcely seen throughout the rest of the season. While viewers don't quite need less of him than what season two included, he doesn't exactly need to be such a strong presence for the series to succeed.

8 Less Joker

Like with Batman, Joker's presence was pretty large in season one but fairly minimal in season two. Given Harley's incredibly close ties to the Clown Prince of Crime, it would definitely make sense to see the character on occasion.

However, after all the growth Harley went through during season two, Joker doesn't really need to be a large presence in the series anymore. While it would be appropriate for him to make an occasional appearance, he doesn't need to be in nearly as much in the future as he was in season one.

7 More of Harley's Crew

Even though they aren't the most accomplished DC villains around, Harley's crew still manages to bring a lot of their own charm and flair to the TV series. Consisting of Clayface, King Shark, Dr. Psycho, and Sy Borgman, Harley's crew has brought many laughs and even some complexity to the overall narrative.

Season two especially gave audiences some great moments with these characters, even changing things up for them drastically by the end. Given the state that her crew is currently in after the finale, fans are definitely excited to see more of them in season three.

6 More of the Comics

Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn back to back

Both seasons of Harley Quinn have so far included a lot of references to DC comics and other forms of media, all while managing to break away and tell their own story at the same time. From some casual side mentions to some very familiar imagery, these little Easter eggs make the show even more exciting for hardcore DC fans.

Even though the show has done a fantastic job of telling its own story, it would be nice to see a few more things from the comics come into play as well. Though they could certainly overdo the number of comic book references, it would still be nice to see what they can do with them in the next season.

5 Kite Man

Though he may be one of the biggest laughing-stocks in all of comics, Kite Man has actually been one of the highlights of the Harley Quinn series. By acknowledging just how much of a joke he really is, Kite Man has become one of the best supporting characters in the series.

Unfortunately, given the season two finale, it doesn't seem as though audiences will be seeing as much of Kite Man as they have been. However, there are still plenty of hysterical possibilities to accomplish with the character, making viewers hopeful that he'll be back soon.

4 Expand the DC Universe

While season one of Harley Quinn featured all sorts of aspects of the DC universe beyond Gotham, season two was pretty confined to the city. For a world as big as the DC universe as well, there are still plenty of other areas that Harley has yet to explore.

Obviously, these locations depend on the story taking these characters there, but the show's world-building thus far has been very solid. Plus, with a more self-confident Harley and Poison Ivy at her side, there's really no telling where season three would take them.

3 Other DC Characters

Virtually all of the guest characters on Harley Quinn thus far have been an incredibly welcome addition to the series. From more recurring characters like Bane and Two-Face to more one-off ones like Robin and Batgirl, all of these guests would be great to see again.

Granted, the show has already found a nice balance with their guest characters, with all of them appearing in at least more than one episode. However, as more and more things begin to happen as Harley develops further, it would be nice to see these characters continue to react to her.

2 New DC Characters

Along with the great characters already established, it would also be nice to see some new faces on the show. Both seasons so far have done well to continually introduce newer characters, especially some lesser-knowns from far corners of the DC universe.

Even if some bigger names take a back seat for a bit, it would still be nice to see what the show would do with characters like Booster Gold or even Power Girl. With a plethora of options to still explore, fans can't wait to see what comedic new spin is put on the newer faces in the next season.

1 Harley and Ivy's Relationship

For years, fans have been anxiously anticipating the romance between Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. Though the comics themselves have often teased an attraction between the two, it has yet to be to the same extent as it now is in the TV show.

Not only does the new relationship between the two have many fans excited for the future, but it also allows the show to explore some completely new ground for them. With so much in store after the season two finale, it is safe to say that fans are definitely excited for season three.
