The following contains spoilers for Harley Quinn Season 3, Episode 4, "A Thief, A Mole, An Orgy," available on HBO Max.
In Season 3 of Harley Quinn, while the series focuses on Harley and Poison Ivy as eco-terrorists, a lot more of the DC Universe has been brought into play. Harley made enemies of the Suicide Squad, for example, while Nightwing joined up with the Bat-family. In addition, just when it seemed like a Gotham City rebuild could occur with Jim Gordon running for mayor, the Court of Owls came into play.
From the comics, fans know this sinister society is all about controlled chaos and destruction. But thankfully, their role was quieter, yet very lurid. In the process, Harley and Ivy saw firsthand how disgusting their nighttime activities were, which ended up producing something ickier than The Boys' Herogasm.
Season 3 of The Boys blew fans' minds, creeping them out with the Herogasm sex party from the books. There, a ton of supes engaged in the orgy to end all orgies, powers involved. While folks like Mother's Milk ended up needing to wash off, the party was cut short thanks to the war between Homelander and Soldier Boy. If that skirmish didn't pop off, one has to think Herogasm would have been a lot dirtier.
Well, Harley Quinn made up for what The Boys lacked when she and Ivy got to the party to find out who stole Frank the Plant -- Ivy's new bioweapon. Instead, a sex party unfolded filled with lots of nudity, bodily fluids, lube, dildos, and well, animals. Yes, that's right, Harley Quinn continued to push the boundaries by involving bestiality. Admittedly, The Boys did have the Deep engaging in coitus with an octopus, but Harley Quinn took it a step farther.
In the Owls' case, while it wasn't shown on screen, these 'normal' citizens were heard getting busy with various animals in the background. There was even a dolphin, which may have been a dig at Deep loving dolphins in The Boys. Obviously, an educated guess would have elucidated what was happening, especially given how grossed out Harley and Ivy were. Everything was capped with an almost-nude Bane, whose masked evoked an Eyes Wide Shut aesthetic -- although, he was too busy eating a sub-sandwich to cure his depression in a very suggestive, phallic moment.
Ironically, in their unsuccessful quest to find Frank, Harley and Ivy flipped the lights on, leaving everyone shocked at being outed as participants in the grand orgy. They all bolted, highlighting why Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle left early too -- they just didn't want to be on display. But while all this orgy did was show how carefree the rich truly are, it also reminded fans how weird it is for Warner Bros. to be cool with this sex party, yet totally against Batman going down on Catwoman while in a loving relationship.
