WARNING: The following contains spoilers for the Harley Quinn Season 2, Episode 2, "Riddle U," now streaming on DC Universe.

In Season 2 of Harley Quinn, the gloves are off as Gotham has been deemed a No Man's Land -- officially cut off from the rest of the United States. It's in dire straits after Joker and Scarecrow tore the city apart last season with their new toxin causing citizens to mutate and ravage the city. That led to the A-list villains ignoring Harley's laying claim to a wasted Gotham after Joker's tower fell, instead opting to divide it amongst themselves, the elites.

However, after she killed Penguin, in "Riddler U," Harley and her crew have discovered if they're to take Bane down from his throne, it's not going to be easy as his goons are some of the toughest and most competent around.

It initially seems like taking back the city will be a walk in the park when Doctor Psycho and King Shark take Two-Face's goons down earlier in this episode. They're just looking for a water purifier, but when these '50s criminals try to intercept them, they engineer a "death car" to kill off as many as possible. Of course, it helps that the Tommy Gun-toting thugs are incompetent and just good for a few one-liners. But as Shark and his comrade drive into Baneton, they realize the thugs there are a different ballgame.

In the first episode of Season 2, some of Commissioner Gordon's cops actually left the police force and joined Bane's army, with luchador masks and face-paint -- the whole nine. But here, we don't see the exact same trio, it's another crew of goons facing down Shark and Psycho. There's a lot more than meets the eye, though, as Harley's peeps underestimate them, and Bane's soldiers inject Venom and bulk up, just like their leader.

The "heroes" start firing on Bane's goons, but they're bulletproof. They then proceed to tear the car up, showing immense strength as they bend metal like paper. To top it off, they're not into cheesy jokes, they're all about business. It's such a breath of fresh air seeing them masked up and so intimidating, especially as Bane has been purely comedy relief in the series. He's the butt of jokes a lot, and it does have to do with his Tom Hardy impersonation from The Dark Knight Rises, so it's tough to take him seriously.

This legion is out for blood, however, and doing the mask justice. That said, the outcome of the fight isn't revealed until the very end. There, Shark and Psycho return to base, tired and bruised, with the purifier. But it's clear they've been successful against Bane's warriors. However, we don't know what happened, apart from they're rocking luchador-gear they either stole or got dressed up with. Nonetheless, the victory took some time, so eventually it seems Psycho's telekinesis and mind control, plus Shark's penchant for chomping people to pieces, must have worked.

So while Harley and Ivy took Riddler down a bit easily with Batgirl's help, when the time comes to go after Baneton, they'll need all hands on deck. We have no clue how many warriors Bane has and seeing as there are cops in his empire, they may be much better strategically and in terms of military tactics when all-out war is ready to break out. So much so, Harley might need reinforcements because once Bane realizes some goons are missing, as funny as he's been in the show thus far, we can picture him getting a lot more serious to protect the kingdom he's wanted in all his years of crime.

DC Universe's Harley Quinn stars Kaley Cuoco, Lake Bell, Diedrich Bader, Alan Tudyk, Rahul Kohli, Christopher Meloni, Tony Hale, Ron Funches, Wanda Sykes, Natalie Morales, Jim Rash, Giancarlo Esposito, Jason Alexander and J.B. Smoove. New episodes air on Fridays.
