After many episodes of exploring and debating their feelings for one another across Season 2, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy’s romance will carry into Harley Quinn’s third season.

During an interview with the show's executive producers/showrunners Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker, Syfy Wire asked whether it's safe to officially designate Harley and Ivy a couple. "Yes. Yeah, absolutely," Schumacker responded. "If we're lucky enough to get a Season 3, and we truly don't know yet, but if we are, we're not going to walk it back. They're a couple."

Schumacker and Halpern also confirmed that a third season will not create a scenario where Harley and Ivy are tempted to break up. "It's much more interesting to do a show about how you navigate these very different personalities being in a relationship," Halpern explained. "And what are the fun things that can come out of that? What are the outside influences that can make that relationship tough but without the stakes being, 'Are they going to break up? Are they not?' So yeah, if there's a third season, which I hope there will be, the stakes will not be 'Are Harley and Ivy going to stay together?' They're a couple."

Season 2’s finale, "The Runaway Bridesmaid," saw Harley foil Commissioner Gordon’s attempt to disrupt Ivy and Kite Man’s wedding. However, Kite Man, frustrated over the ruined wedding and realizing that Ivy wasn’t ready at the altar, calls off their engagement. Escaping the GCPD in a "Just Married" car Thelma and Louise-style, Ivy finally confesses that she loves Harley back and the two share a kiss as they drive off into the sunset.
