WARNING: The following contains spoilers for the second season of Hanna, now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Season 2 of Hanna really changes the complexion of the TV series following John Carmichael's (Dermot Mulroney) failed scheme to use Utrax for political assassinations. Utrax is under Marisa's (Mireille Enos) thumb once again but as the season ends, it's apparent no one can be trusted.

Taking ulterior motives into account, let's look at where Season 3 will start off with Hanna (Esme Creed-Miles), the bosses and the female teens at the Meadows in England being kept as super-soldiers.

HANNA

Hanna bid goodbye to Clara who's off with her mom in Morocco, happy and away from the spy world at last. But rather than flee herself, Hanna returned to Marisa in Spain because she knows she has to undo the work Carmichael did, which also fulfills Erik's mission.

Carmichael's been planning to turn Utrax into a hit-cell so Hanna wants to ensure Carmichael's bosses, the Pioneer Group, are drawn out of hiding from the CIA and stopped. She's more of a leader now and many Utrax teens respect her so she could be leading a legion soon enough.

MARISSA

Marissa appears to have replaced Erik not as Hanna's handler, but as a parent. She fought tooth and nail for the entire season to protect Hanna and seems to have earned her trust. Marissa's running Utrax will allow her to trick the Pioneers by trying to kill them as they're the real threat to national security.

She also wants to ensure all the girls have a future once the project is done, so she will have to pacify them to get this job completed. After all, she needs the cream of the crop and doesn't have any other resources apart from the teens. It remains to be seen if Mannion's rogue cell, who are against the Pioneers will also join her or if they too have a secret agenda.

CARMICHAEL

President Ritson in Secret Invasion
Dermot Mulroney stars in "Hanna," which begins streaming its second season Friday on Amazon.

Most of his team was killed by Hanna and Marissa so the season ends with him being forced into an alliance with Marissa. She knows he can start the journey to finding the other Pioneer members so Marissa has Carmichael working for her now, or else she'll kill let them know he leaked the list accidentally.

With Marissa repurposing Utrax, it'll be a risky game to see if he can betray Marissa as she has shown herself as way smarter. Still, Carmichael was her mentor at a point so he could have secrets, tricks and allies up his sleeve she'll never see coming.

SANDY

Sandy has an ax to grind because while she killed key players in Barcelona to help Carmichael hide his kill-list, she was cornered by Marissa. Marissa extracted info from her and sent her back to the Meadows, so should she stay in the program, leading to Sandy becoming a threat.

She enjoys working for Carmichael and seeing as he's treated her like a daughter, Sandy is the kind of person who would backstab Marissa. She also hates Hanna and could incite a civil war, hoping to derail the Utrax revamp and get things back to their war-faring ways.

JULES

Jules is in a similar boat to Sandy and as friends, meaning she could gravitate to Carmichael's little faction. Jules is equally sadistic and got the kills Carmichael needed to silence journalists in England so she's proven herself.

She'd definitely be up for killing Hanna and Marissa as she believes the right man for the job is Carmichael. For now, though, she'll have no choice but to fake allegiance until the right window of opportunity opens up.

TERRI

Terri was Carmichael's right-hand woman, working as the social media profiler to build digital accounts for the girls in the real world. She also faked being their family, helping them achieve normal lives, but as seen when she hid Clara's escape, Terri considers them humans.

She'd definitely be up for helping Marissa, ensuring the girls understand they're people first, not weapons. Terri's really essential to helping them get in touch with their humanity and this could be key for Marissa's initiative to bring the Pioneers down and end Utrax. On top of that, it seems Terri will be the campus' new psychologist.

Created by David Farr, Hanna stars Esmé Creed-Miles, Mireille Enos, Dermot Mulroney, Yasmin Monet Prince, Anthony Welsh, Cherrelle Skeete, Áine Rose Daly and Gianna Kiehl. Seasons 1 and 2 are available now on Amazon Prime Video.
