The franchise's second standalone "anthology" film, following 2016's Rogue One, Solo of course delves into the backstory of the fan-favorite smuggler originated on screen by Harrison Ford. This time Han Solo is played by Alden Ehrenreich (Blue Jasmine, Hail, Caesar!), who's joined by Donald Glover (Community, Atlanta) for a story that takes the young scoundrel from the Imperial Academy to the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon.

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

Directed by Ron Howard and from a script by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan, Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Michael K. Williams and Woody Harrelson. The film opens May 25.
