The writer/director behind the critically acclaimed Star Wars: The Last Jedi has nothing but praise for Solo: A Star Wars Story.

"I think it looks so beautiful. I can't wait for people to see more of the film -- it's so fun, it's so funny," Rian Johnson told ComicBook.com. "The cast is so charismatic, and I think they all just did a great job with it."

Solo's troubled production, marred by the departure of the movie's original director and the arrival of Ron Howard, has seeded worry among franchise devotees. Johnson's seal of approval will then undoubtedly come as a relief to some, who might have assumed that Lucasfilm and Disney playing coy with the marketing of Solo somehow meant a less-than-stellar outing for the Star Wars franchise.
