Fans may finally have their first look at Alden Ehrenreich's version of Han Solo in the upcoming movie Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Merchandise from a movie theater in Arizona, specifically a "loyalty" cup, pits Ehrenreich's Han Solo among Chewbacca and fellow Disney movie character Gamora, from Guardians of the Galaxy. If this is indeed an official look at the character, it's the first time fans have seen another actor assume the role after Harrison Ford's iconic portrayal.
Solo: A Star Wars Story has definitely seen its fair share of changes and controversy behind the scenes, with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller being replaced by Ron Howard far into production. It's said that Howard has reshot almost all of the anthology flick. Not only that, fans have shared mixed reactions to another actor playing Han Solo, but they'll have to wait for footage to debut before casting full judgement on Ehrenreich's take.
Directed by Ron Howard from a script by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan, Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Michael K. Williams and Woody Harrelson. The film opens May 25, 2018.
