"Thor: Ragnarok" star Tessa Thompson, "Power Rangers'" Naomi Scott and "X-Men: First Class" alum Zoe Kravitz are in the running for the lead female role in Disney's as-yet-untitled Han Solo film. According to Variety, the three actresses are in London testing for the project this week.

The casting news follows on the heels of an earlier report that claimed the female lead would be Sana Starros, who debuted in “Star Wars” #6 by Jason Aaron and John Cassaday. In the comics, the character immediately established her prior relationship with Han Solo, proclaiming to be his wife (a fact that ended up being an exaggeration of the truth). However, the report does not provide a name or any other details about the role.

Alden Ehrenreich was cast in the title role earlier this year, though not much else is known about the film. According to earlier rumors, the film seeks to cast a young Lando Calrissian; Donald Glover was associated with this role in the report, and he neither confirmed nor denied the rumors in a later statement. Production is scheduled to begin in January 2017.

Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (“The LEGO Movie”) and written by Lawrence (“The Empire Strikes Back”) and Jon Kasdan, the “Han Solo” anthology film will be released May 25, 2018.
