Every Star Wars movie brings something different to the galaxy far, far away, but there are some things that never seem to change, like Anthony Daniels appearing as C-3PO. The actor has appeared in every theatrical Star Wars movie, including spin-offs. Although it wasn't clear if he would reprise his role for Solo: A Star Wars Story, actor Mark Hamill says that Daniels will indeed appear in the film.
"[Anthony] Daniels was so happy," Hamill told the Washington Post's Cape Up with Jonathan Capehart, "'cause he’s in every single Star Wars movie. Every single one. All the Prequels, he’s in Rogue One, he’s in Solo… Whoops! I hope that’s not, erm… But anyway, he’s in Every. Single. Star Wars movie. That’s not such a reveal – all Star Wars fans expect him to be in every movie."
It's not entirely clear where or how C-3PO will appear in the film, though the character is certainly out in the world at the time Solo is set. R2-D2, C-3PO's constant companion, has also appeared in every Star Wars theatrical movie and will also likely appear in Solo.
Directed by Ron Howard from a script by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan, Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Emilia Clarke as Qi’ra, and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca. They are joined by Thandie Newton as Val, Phoebe Waller-Bridge L3-37, Paul Bettany as Dryden Vos, and Woody Harrelson as Tobias Beckett. The film opens May 25.
