Breaking down each of the new games, subscribers can look forward to a variety of smaller indie hits alongside one of the year's most anticipated games. Starting from the top, ANVIL is a shooter rogue-like that places players in the boots of a Breaker, an explorer tasked with uncovering ancient alien civilizations on procedurally generated planets. Each of the playable classes features unique movesets and abilities that must be mastered to overcome challenging bosses. In a similar vein, Archvale is a charming top-down bullet-Hell game that allows players to craft over 200 unique weapons as they attempt to destroy hordes of evil enemies known as Undying.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 acts as a direct sequel to the original game that sees players embark on a quest to discover the mysterious fate of beloved protagonist Lightning who has disappeared into an unknown world. Lawn Mowing Simulator is exactly what you think it is, allowing players to experience the satisfaction of mowing a lawn albeit without the pleasant smell of freshly cut grass. Rubber Bandits is a physics-based multiplayer game where you'll need to "steal, smash, and scavenge as much cash as you can."

One of the bigger games coming to Xbox Game Pass, Stardew Valley is a charming life-simulator that places players in charge of an idyllic farm. Originally launched in 2016, the cozy village experience earned itself a massive, dedicated fanbase that continues to grow with each significant post-launch update. Striking an entirely different tone, Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector is a brutal turn-based strategy game that includes copious amounts of space marines and a variety of deadly vehicles and contraptions. The sufficiently titled Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator lets you live your fantasy of dealing in various intergalactic body parts, setting up a space-faring (and highly criminal) empire.

Arguably the most anticipated game of 2021, the single-player campaign for Halo Infinite finally arrives this December. Join Master Chief on another gigantic adventure as he attempts to uncover what happened to Cortana, the series' iconic AI companion. This portion of the game will complement the multiplayer offering which is currently receiving high praise from both fans and critics.

Rounding out the first half of December, subscribers can also look forward to the over-the-top action of One Piece Pirate Warriors 4, which features destructible environments and a large roster of characters from the hit manga and anime. This is followed up by Aliens: Fireteam Elite, a co-op multiplayer shooter that pits four playable marines against a never-ending horde of vicious, intelligent Xenomorphs. Lastly, the breakout party game of 2020 Among Us will be available to all Game Pass members on console, finally allowing them to experience one of the most popular games of the last two years.
