The download size for Halo Infinite has leaked online and it's larger than expected.

According to a Reddit post, the download size for Halo Infinite clocks in at a hefty 97.24GB. As evidenced by an image of the game seemingly listed on the Microsoft Store, players will need to clear out a decent chunk of space to join Master Chief on his latest adventure. It's currently unknown if that number consists of Halo Infinite's single-player campaign combined with the multiplayer suite. Given that the preview build of the game's multiplayer weighed in at 18GB, it's possible that 97.24GB is the entire game.

While many Halo fans may wince in pain at filling up their hard drives with a single game, it's possible that number may change. If Halo Infinite has yet to go gold, the download size of the game may still be in flux. It's also unclear whether players will be able to download and play the game's single-player and multiplayer modes separately. Given how Halo Infinite's multiplayer will be free-to-play, it's possible that developer 343 Industries takes a similar approach to Call of Duty: Warzone.

Halo Infinite recently opened its doors to some members of the public in a closed beta test. The game's multiplayer mode, featuring several tweaks from previous entries, was largely praised by fans and critics. While the tech display was limited to 4v4 Slayer deathmatch against bots with increasingly tougher AI, the game reportedly felt like a modern upgrade while never straying too far from the franchise's roots.
