He may have a penchant for butcher's knives, but Michael Myers is nothing if not adaptable, as the famous horror icon proves in the latest trailer for Halloween.

Though he does end up wielding his signature weapon, the first kill Myers notches in the new trailer utilizes a standard hammer. From there, he grasps a massive knife and makes his way out into the world, presumably hunting for Laurie Strode, being played once more by the franchise's original star, Jamie Lee Curtis.

From there, it's a relatively bloodless montage of Michael terrorizing the citizens of Haddonfield while Laurie attempts to convince her family that she's ready to take him down, once and for all. And it looks like she may actually have a shot; not only has she made sure to arm herself to an extreme measure during Michael's time away, she's converted her entire home into a massive fortress, complete with floodlights, reinforced doors and more.

Debuting October 19, the latest Halloween is directed by David Gordon Green from a script written with Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley. The film stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, and Andi Matichak with Nick Castle and James Jude Courtney sharing the role of masked killer Michael Myers. The film is executive produced and scored by original filmmaker John Carpenter.
