Halloween came early to Galveston, Texas, as a man wearing a Michael Myers costume trudged along a storm-battered beach in advance of Hurricane Nicholas' landfall and the upcoming release of Halloween Kills. The local ABC News affiliate picked up the scoop, tweeting a clip of the beachbound street artist as he made his way through the wind and sand. After Galveston police learned of a "masked man with a knife with blood on it" stalking the coastline, officers summarily arrested the Michael Myers cosplayer. As it turned out, the costumed performer is a Galveston-area lawyer with a past full of similar stunts.RELATED: Halloween Kills Slashes Critics Down the Middle

Named Mark Metzger, the lawyer appeared to be attempting to create some levity amidst an emergency situation. Referring to the reactions of some people to his "little bit of positivity in the gloomy doom," Metzger stated, "I just don't think they appreciate it that much. I guess there's some people out there that don't have a sense of humor or, you know, can't please them all."

Continuing, Metzger recalled, "It felt like a scene out of Scooby-Doo after they handcuffed me and pulled the mask off, like, 'I would have gotten away with it if wasn't for those meddling Karens, you know?" He concluded, "If I had to do it all over again, I absolutely would."

Halloween Kills releases in theaters and on Peacock on Oct. 15.
