Halloween Kills' Michael Myers makes an ominous entrance in a newly shared movie still.

David Gordon Green's sequel will follow the explosive climax of his 2018 Halloween reboot that set Laurie Strode's family home ablaze. Myers' latest look in Halloween Kills was shared by Empire, showing the indestructible serial killer emerging from the wreckage.

"This film is about community fear, paranoia, misinformation and crowd panic," said the director of the 12th installment in the Halloween franchise. "This movie is a great popcorn genre movie and not really any kind of statement, but it’s strange how things line up. It couldn’t be a more interesting time to release a movie like this."

Green's latest installment will star Jamie Lee Curtis, reprising her role as Laurie Strode battling her boogeyman brother Michael Myers. Plot details for Halloween Kills are scarce; however, it's known that Myers is alive and on the loose in Haddonfield, leaving it up to Strode and her town's locals to take him down.

Actor Jamie Lee Curtis echoed Green's recent statements about Halloween Kills, confirming the film's focus on a mob mentality. "What we were seeing around the country of the power, of the rage of voices, big groups of people coming together enraged at the set of circumstances, that's what the movie is. The movie is about a mob," Curtis said in a prior interview.

Green previously promised that this latest addition to Myers' story will be more action-packed than his 2018 predecessor/reboot. 2018's Halloween was a more personal story of Myers vs. Strode, whereas Halloween Kills will show the horrifying results of trauma spread throughout a community and how fear is infectious.

Green originally pitched Halloween Kills and the planned 2022 finale, Halloween Ends, as two films shot back-to-back before it was decided to allow time to gauge the audience's reactions to the first film. At the time of this writing, Halloween Ends will officially bring Myers' arc and the franchise to a conclusion.

Directed by David Gordon Green and written by Green, Danny McBride, Paul Brad Logan and Chris Bernier, Halloween Kills stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Andi Matichak and Judy Greer. The film arrives in theaters on Oct. 15. Halloween Ends is set for a theatrical release in 2022.
