As the star of five films in the Halloween franchise and counting, Jamie Lee Curtis is the definitive slasher movie Scream Queen and is poised to extend her time as Laurie Strode once again.
In a behind-the-scenes photo from Halloween Kills, Curtis revealed she has officially begun filming her role in the upcoming sequel. The photo reveals Laurie still battered and bruised from her rematch against serial killer Michael Myers in last year's revival, hinting the sequel may begin immediately after the events of the preceding film, or perhaps in the aftermath of another confrontation between the two entirely.
Halloween Kills and its sequel Halloween Ends were officially announced by Blumhouse Productions at Comic-Con International in San Diego this past July. Curtis confirmed she would reprise her role as Laurie as well as executive produce on both films with franchise co-creator John Carpenter.
Principal photography began on Halloween Kills last month in Wilmington, North Carolina, with the Southern filming location doubling for the franchise's usual setting of Haddonfield, Illinois.
Directed by David Gordon Green and written by Green, Danny McBride, Paul Brad Logan and Chris Bernier, Halloween Kills stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Andi Matichak and Judy Greer. The film is set to hit theaters on Oct. 16, 2020.
